A Russian Fighter Intercepts A US Military Plane Near Russian Airspace

A MiG-31 Russian intercepted over the Pacific Ocean a reconnaissance aircraft RC-135 Air Force US and led him away from the border Russia, as reported Saturday the National Center for Defense of Russia.

“To identify the target and prevent the possible crossing of the border, a MiG-31 fighter from the anti-aircraft force of the Eastern Military District took off,” said the statement, collected by the official Sputnik news agency.

The Russian fighter crew identified that air target as a US Air Force RC-135 strategic reconnaissance aircraft , which they ended up escorting over the waters of the Pacific Ocean.

After the US plane turned around and flew away from the Russian border, the Russian fighter returned to the parking airfield.

The National Defense Center commented that the flight of the Russian fighter was carried out “in strict accordance with international rules for the use of airspace .”
